If you have traveled to any of the Galapagos Islands recently, we’d like to know more about your experience. Did you see purebred dogs? Siberian Huskies, pit bulls, or poodles? Did you see injured, neglected or undernourished dogs and cats? Did you witness any dogs or cats terrorizing or preying on wildlife? We are compiling first-hand accounts to bring to the Ecuadorian government and Tourism Board among other agencies to support better protection for dogs, cats and wildlife in the Galapagos Islands.
Imagine a place where hundreds of iguanas lay on rocks in the sun, sea lions slumber on the beach, birds nest on the ground and giant tortoises bathe in muddy pools. In the Galapagos Islands, this is not a stretch of the imagination, however, all of these animals are threatened by the thousands of street dogs and cats living in Galapagos.
